But after dying and coming back to life, after living two lifetimes, the one he’d brought back to his den both times was that snow-white kitty Shizun that he didn’t even have his eye on at first. However, it’s certainly a very gripping and exciting story, especially if you are a fan of angst and drama as there is plenty of that to spare. Unlike the usual rebirth story, MC was a scum until death in his previous life and he continued to be somewhat scum in his second life until falling in love with ML and realising the wrong in his ways. Discussion of derivative works such a donghua, live actions, audio dramas, and manhua are also encouraged! I floated between a 4 and 5 stars for this but ended up rounding it up for the number of scenes which sucker punched me and made me have emotions.

It was a fascinating ride to watch as these characters struggled through the mire of circumstance to bring healing and growth to a relationship that had previously been so tainted, and I was deeply invested in that growth and development. His arms were like clamps, like shackles, latching on to the remaining bit of warmth in his arms, as if holding on to the very last ember of fire in the world. Awakening in the body of his younger self—Mo Ran, a disciple of the cultivation sect Sisheng Peak—he discovers the chance to relive his life. WARNING: This Review will include mentions or talk about talk about most subjects present in the book, including but not limited to rape, abuse, NSFW/sexual scenes and so on so forth, probably not extensively or in detail but I will talk about them nevertheless.Nevertheless it was introduced kinda weirdly and after the way Mo Ran is handled I do not trust the author to handle this character any better.

At first this story seems like your usual rebirth MC novels BUT as the story progressed and the plot revealed, it was full of twist and turns that take you into roller coaster of feels. For the record, past me who thought they were emotionally prepared enough to deal with starting a new Danmei series was a fucking idiot. But I found that the nuance and complexity to their characters developed quickly as you read and your perspectives start to shift. It’s a 300+ chapter epic that has been adapted into an audio drama, and has a sizable following for it’s angsty narrative, gripping drama and of course, piping hot smut, despite facing the hammer of censorship over it’s explicit chapters. All that he loved, all that he hated, all that he prayed for, all that he resented - when all was said and done, there was nothing left. Sure his character redeems itself and becomes an adorable husky (like the cute sounding title for a. I mainly got around to starting this cause I didn’t want to be spoiled by beautiful art on TikTok and it has been simultaneously a wonderful and horrible idea.

This story itself doesn't use a single point of view, but Mo Ran (ML) was the one that gets the most point of view. If you are looking for a story to suppress reality and embrace the wild, this may be the one for you. When I said it will break you, it will tear your soul apart and make you hold on to your dear life while you're sobbing and scratching your walls. The references to other people he's slept in the past and how much screwing around he's done and how much everyone just loves it and wants him.Istg the moment I started this book I just knew I made a mistake bcs turns out, this didn't hurt any less in the second read. I found it off-putting that the ML's unconditional love would stretch so far as to love someone that r*pes and tortures him, and the ML even goes as far as to even blame himself even though he was the victim. On the other hand, the themes in this book are ranging from morally questionable to downright disturbing. This novel is very dark and i don't want anyone to have a hard time because they didn't know where they were getting into, so if you come across this comment, have all this in mind and decide if you want to read this or not.

It does not seem necassery to the plot as it plays pretty much no part in either characters' development nor is how it affected them negatively ever properly explored. People are much more than what they show on the surface: Chu Wanning, for example, is like aloe vera. I found Mo Ran and Shi Mei's relationship to be very compelling (be it platonic or romantic it does not matter), their interactions are some of my favorite throughout the volume and one of the few things that kept me going,I know of most of the major plot points that happen later on so I want to see where their characters will get in the future and how, probably one of the only reasons I will continue reading this series. For all of its massive word count, it declines to explore the ramifications of many of the conflicts it goes to the trouble to set up while instead spending a great deal of time repeatedly attempting to create pathos regarding the central relationship - and for all the time we spend with the two leads, there is almost no sense of what they care about other than themselves and each other. That there is something Chu Wanning never told him that would have prevented Mo Ran’s revenge on his body.

Of all revelations, the one that stunned him the most was that the Shizun he had hated to the bone in his previous life had always been protecting him from the shadows. I know this reviews is not helpful at all, however, if you got intrigued by any chance, I guess, happy reading! Well in the end, I think Lady Wang is really loves Xue Zheng Yong, it's just that her love is not passionate love or lustful love. Not even the translation was able to suppress the masterpiece the writing was, every world an arrow right on the mark. I thought I knew everything there was to know about Mo Ran and SURPRISE, there's more secrets to him!
